The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has scheduled a virtual public meeting for stakeholders to learn about and provide input regarding a new draft of the Stormwater Multi-Sector General Permit (MSGP); the current version expires August 14, 2021. The virtual meeting will be Monday, January 11, 2021 at 1:30 PM (CST).
Industrial Stormwater Discharge Authorization
The MSGP authorizes discharge of stormwater associated with industrial activity for those facilities required to have a stormwater permit but that do not need individual wastewater discharge permits. For facilities in one of the 30 industrial sectors identified in the MSGP, the MSGP specifies which facilities must obtain permit coverage, which are eligible for exclusion from permit coverage, and which facilities must obtain individual permits.
Written Comments Due January 14, 2021
TCEQ has created a draft MSGP and published it in the Texas Register. In addition to receiving input via the virtual meeting, TCEQ will receive written comments on the draft MSGP through January 14, 2021.
Any member of the public may attend the virtual meeting or submit written comments.
