Bryant Parker serves as Of Counsel in Crain Caton & James’ Real Estate and Corporate, Business Transactions and Tax practices. He brings over a decade of legal experience focused on commercial real estate, finance, leasing, and private securities offerings, with strength in structuring transactions that balance legal precision with business practicality.
Prior to joining the firm, Bryant served as in-house counsel for one of the largest real estate developers in the Midwestern United States. In that role, he was responsible for all legal aspects of high-level real property acquisitions, leasing, finance, and dispositions. His work also encompassed a substantial portion of the company’s private securities matters, including the preparation and execution of Regulation D offerings in multiple states. He is particularly skilled at tailoring disclosure materials and other documentation to the unique facts and goals of each issuance.
Bryant has negotiated countless retail leases, including triple-net, gross, and hybrid landlord-tenant arrangements. His leasing work is informed by deep familiarity with common provisions such as non-compete covenants, tenant improvement credits, and strategies for amortizing costs in early termination situations. He frequently advises programmatic developers, especially those engaged in franchising—on how to maintain uniform leasing strategies across multiple sites while meeting local legal and business needs.
In addition to his real estate and leasing expertise, Bryant has significant experience negotiating high-dollar loan and credit facility arrangements with both traditional banks and institutional lenders. His advanced degree in taxation enables him to provide clients with sophisticated advice on structuring tax-efficient ownership strategies for real estate assets, including waterfall distributions and equity arrangements within private securities offerings.
Additionally, Bryant’s practice includes corporate governance, contract drafting and negotiation, and cross-border transactions. He has negotiated and implemented multilateral public-private partnerships and government-sponsored economic development packages, including those involving Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC).
Bryant’s unique combination of real estate, corporate, and tax knowledge—shaped by both private practice and in-house experience—makes him a valuable resource for clients engaged in complex, multi-faceted transactions.
