Celebrating Montye Holmes: An Example of Excellence at Crain Caton & James

We are thrilled to share the exciting news that Montye Holmes, a dedicated paralegal in our Banking and Financial Practice Area, was recently featured in the December issue of the Houston Paralegal Association’s newsletter. Montye’s journey and achievements are truly inspiring, and we couldn’t be prouder of her recognition.

Montye’s path in the legal industry began in 1976 as a file clerk. Through determination and hard work, she earned her paralegal certificate from Rice University and passed both the NALA CP exam and the Texas Board of Legal Specialization exam. Her commitment to excellence has been unwavering, and she has become an invaluable member of our team.

“Montye’s dedication and work ethic are unparalleled,” said Pat Huttenbach, the shareholder Montye works closely with. “Her meticulous attention to detail and unwavering support have been instrumental in our success. We are fortunate to have her as part of our team.”

Beyond her professional achievements, Montye has been a passionate Boy Scout leader for 20 years, earning the prestigious Silver Beaver Award in 2013, the highest honor given by the local Boy Scout Council. This speaks volumes about her dedication and leadership both inside and outside the workplace.

In her interview, Montye shared some sage advice for aspiring paralegals: “Learn to write well and read everything that crosses your desk.” Her insights and experience offer invaluable guidance to those entering the field.

Montye’s love for her work, her positive contributions to our attorneys and clients, and her enduring commitment to the legal profession make her a standout at Crain Caton & James. In her spare time, Montye enjoys Broadway shows and movies. We often wonder which classic legal drama she prefers – To Kill a Mockingbird or 12 Angry Men?

Join us in congratulating Montye Holmes on this well-deserved recognition!
